This pick stunned a lot of people, including myself even though I don’t really follow college basketball to make judgement on how good draft picks are.

All of Bargnani’s strengthes and weaknesses proved to be true from the outset.

He could shoot well, including from three and from the line and get a few blocks.  But his rebounding and defense was so damn poor.  His highest rebounding average was 6.3 rebounds in 35 minutes in 2009-10, shocking numbers for a guy 7 foot.

For me he is one of the worst picks inside the Top 5 of NBA drafts in the last 15 years. Even though the 2006 NBA draft was notoriously poor he was taken ahead of Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, JJ Redick and Kyle Lowry.

By the way during the video you see some great moves from the Raptors excercising their options on Charlie Villanueva and Joey Graham.  Those moves really paid off!
