The NBA is just around the corner, oh yeah!

And we have our Sportcodex Season Win Competition on the way where we predict each team’s exact win amount.

But on top of that I have my own personal futures bets for the 2019-20 season and it’s going to be a good one. I’m placing 2 units on each of these bets.

NBA Season Wins Under/Over Odds from Bet365

OVERS

Denver Nuggets Over 53.5 $1.90

The Nuggets bring back the same squad plus have bolstered their roster with Jerami Grant & a healthy Michael Porter Jnr. Their homecourt advantage is massive only losing 7 games at home last season. With experience in the playoffs now most of their young squad should improve.

Detroit Pistons Over 38.5 $1.83

The Pistons are a mediocre team now and for the last decade. But that normally means 40 wins in the “weak” East. Griffin and Jackson come into the season healthy for once and perform well with Drummond. The bench depth has remarkably improved with Rose, Kennard, Markieff Morris & Christian Wood in the fold. All upgrades over Zaza, Calderon & GRIII.

LA Clippers over 54.5 $2.10

The Clippers won 48 games last season in which they weren’t supposed to make the playoffs. They lose Gallinari & SGA but in a supreme move they get Kawhi plus Paul George, two of (if not) the best two way wings in the league. Plus an underrated asset acquired by them was Harkless who will slot in nicely if either Kawhi or PG are out with injury. With solid defensive players plus scoring threats from any area on the basketball court this team will be hard to beat. Look for the Clippers to be a buyout destination later in the season.

UNDERS

Cleveland Cavaliers Under 23.5 $1.80

Kevin Love is their only hope to make it over this amount of wins. And there is no way another star is coming to town. Around Love is a mismatch of rookies and semi-vets looking to earn another contract. Young Garland in the backcourt looks great but will be learning tough in his first season in the NBA.

Memphis Grizzlies Under 26.5 $1.95

The Grizz have some great young talent, namely Jaren Jackson Jr, Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks. But that’s the thing, all of their talent is so young and inexperienced. This is the first real rebuild year for Memphis after Conley & Gasol were traded last season. They will be putting prospects together to trial combinations and see who earns a spot. The West is a tough learning experience for any young team, so to get over 27 wins will be an over achievement.
