What’s up? Welcome back to the second day of round two of the Sportcodex Sports Movies brackets. We had a couple of upsets on Day One, with only one of the higher seeds going through.
Our #1 seed Ford V Ferrari is safe, eliminating Bend It Like Beckham with 66.7% of the votes.
The #2 seed Raging Bull wasn’t so lucky though, losing to the #34 seed Cool Runnings with only 30.8% of the votes. Cool Runnings establishing itself as a dark horse contender.
The #3 seed The Wrestler also got taken out, this time by a whopping margin. It loses to the #30 seed Rocky, with the winner taking 85.7% of votes.
Finally, it wasn’t a good day for Martin Scorsese, with his #29 seed The Color of Money being eliminated by the #51 seed The Waterboy. Adam Sandler has taken out Creed and now The Color of Money.
With that out of the way, let’s look at today’s matchups.

One is a beloved family movie with that is fun and amazing and has the Looney Tunes and the greatest bsaketball player of all-time. The other is a rom-com that isn’t bad. Pick the right movie, guys.

There are a lot of comparisons to be made here. Both films were Academy Award darlings, receiving multiple nominations each. Both also star well-liked leads in Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock. Both are also based on true stories. The difference is only one of these films had the person it’s based on call it out for making up the majority of it. I’ll give you a clue, that film isn’t Moneyball.
57. BASEketball vs 25. He Got Game
BASEketball

These films couldn’t be further apart in style if they tried. I am torn on this matchup though as I truly love both of these films. Toughest matchup of the day.
There we go, that’s another day of matchups down. As always, keep it locked on the Sportcodex Twitter account to keep up with the polls, because this doesn’t work without everyone voting!
Until next time, PEACE!
